Here'* what I would suggest.

Get her the stuff , and get the cars in her name. Then she can claim NOTHING on you.

As bad as this whole thing is, she acknolwedged she owes you money, and you have something that says she does.

I might even go a step further, and have a lawyer draft you a document you could fill out to legalize all of your affairs. NOTHING replaces attorney advice. Not online forms, not picking up anything from state office.

The $12k is bogus. It'* her way of keeping tied to you. Let it go and feel good about it. She never really intends to pay this "debt" anyway. And stop associating with her on a weekly basis. Don't be mean to her, but break off the contact or Crystal'* going to drop you like used toilet paper.

Back to the Bonnevilles...when are you going to start charging the new BOYfriend for the parts he'* taking off YOUR car to fix your ex-car that HE broke? Call the JY right now and have 'em tow the parts car away. If you're lucky you'll get $100 out of the deal and you'll have the satisfaction of knowing new bf is shelling out for parts and fetching 'em hisself in knee-deep snow.

Sorry to be so harsh, but there'* no other way to put it.

Well the funny things is way back years ago when we first bought the white Bonneville, she actually paid for it, but it went under my name. So really she is the one that paid for both of them, but I put a good 3,000-4,000$ into the white one to get it on the road.

As I stated before, I never expected to get any of the $$$ but you never know. In the 11 years together, if she said she would do something, she would, so I don't see why she would change now. All that is stopping her form paying me back is getting on enough contracts to get the $$$.

Yeah, I don't see any reason to cause the ex a problem by junking the parts car. I mean, if she doesn't have wheels she'* probably just going to be bothering Mike even more. Give her the parts car, give her the freakin' title to it, and wash both her and the car out of your hair. If she ever pays him any money, we can all ooh and aah over Mike'* new 92-99 Bonneville.

(And having been such a die-hard older-model Bonneville fan, I think you owe it to yourself to step up to 92-99, but definitely no further! We're starting to get overrun by 00'+ owners, so we need all the support we can get in the 92-99 camp!)

Either way, cut it loose and forget the money. Like Bugsi said - if it comes to pass, it will be like winning the lottery. But don't expect it.

Actually, you'd be amazed just how binding something like that can be. If she doesn't pay, take her to court, and enter that into evidence. In the meantime, tell her she has three days to get what she needs from the car, then it gets towed. After that, don't even listen to complaints about the car. Hang up if she mentions it.

She actually came and got the car a few days ago, when I first posted this. So that is now one less thing in MY yard that ties me to her. I mean it was just sitting there anyhow. Looks like she was able to get the car back on the road. The really odd sound was a really bad missfire cause it looks like the old coil pack or ICm fried when it got hit. Then when her BF tried to convert it over he said that ICM was fried, which it wasn't. I think when the car got hit in the front it broke a ground somewhere.

Anyhow, the old ICM from the white car and coil are now on the grey car and it is on the road again, along with the grill and headlights and supports from the white car. The hood still has to be changed but it is good enough to drive. Come spring, she can come over get her stuff, do whatever she wants with it and there will be pretty much no reason for her to come over anymore.

Crystal and myself are already trying to plan our lives together and it doesn NOT include my ex, lol.
