Both of you are in my prayers!

That is exactly what they plan on doing for her... I will let her know that it didn't leave a scar on your sister, that will relieve Steph'* mind a little bit.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Off to the hospital now :(

Have a good day everyone

Gall Stones.. thank heavens .. I was fearing much worse!
My work shiftmate had them so I know they hurt like hell. He had his removed last year and is fine now. He was actually back to to work in the same week iirc.

Steph will be in our hearts! Hope fully it will be quick and she'll be back home before you kow it.
I too wish I were closer to help out but I'm sure you'll do what needs to be done.
best wishes!!

Been there...done that.

I hope you may find comfort in that the surgery is pretty routine and the cuts are very minimal. For the recovery time, they held my cuts closed with little pieces of tape. No staples, no stitches, just tape. When the tape fell off days later, the cuts were healed.
Also, her pain went away. When I had mine removed, I was in so much pain my blood pressure was up to 200-somethig over 130. Yes, that pain can be crippling. If the pain goes away at all, consider the releif a little good luck.

Best wishes for a speedy and uneventful recovery.

\

yea..... I'm pissed

SO, the GI doc didn't take her in for testing untill 2:30 this afternoon, so the surgeon will not be doing the operation today. She also doesn't work this weekend, so Stephanie will probably be released tomorrow afternoon sometime then have to return in a few weeks to have the surgery as an outpatient procedure

We have been in the hospital now for 30 hours and are bored as hell. The room is terribly small and ridiculously uncomfortabe. Not to mention we are in a semi-private room.

I am at home now for an hour or so untill she gets back from testing then I will return.

The surgeon says that when she returns to the hospital for the surgery, she should be out that same day, but that doesn't make it any better. WTF.... why the hell can't they just do it all today and get it over with

damn, I have a huge headache right now
