teaching the unteachable
I've been trying to get my mom to learn how to use a computer, who has refused to even touch one for years. I don't know what it is, but she won't even grasp the most simple of concepts when it comes to a computer. I go over all the basics with her and she'll be able to do it once, but when I ask her later to do the same thing she can't figure it out again even after I've told her more than 10 times how to do it! For example, I asked her to right click on a video to make it full screen and she kept left clicking the mouse, on the address bar.. I said again slowly. Right click on the video that is playing on the screen... again, she left clicks the address bar. I put my hand over hers and guide her to the video, RIGHT click, then select full screen. I then tell her to take the video back to regular size by doing what I just did.. again, she keeps left clicking on everything but the video. There'* just so many things that I just get frustrated over because I go over it SO MANY TIMES, yet she doesn't seem to "get it." It'* really common sense, I don't understand why it'* so hard to understand some of the extremely basic concepts.. Anyways, onto my question, is there some kind of video, or even better yet, an interactive program designed to teach people the most basic parts of using a computer? By basic, I mean what the start bar does, the task bar, menus, and all buttons... Nothing comes straight out to her.. it'* like it'* in a foreign language and she can't even locate anything on the screen at all.. extremely frustrating!! If anyone knows of such a program or video please let me know.. Thank you!
