Plus its made by an American company, why else?
Oh, this explains it, the reports are from Comsumer Reports. They suck at rating cars, all they do it recommened all the foreign cars and say american built cars suck pretty much.

I've driven Jeff'* car and it isn't cheap by any means. It rides nice and handles well. I like the widetrack feature and it is just as nice as my 97 GP. The cars aren't ugly

while i personally feel all the grand prix'* are "cheap" to some extent, so are all car manufacturers on the market. I loved my GTP i used to have and would give to have it again however i feel the interior of my 04 is better built than my 99, the seats are more comfortable, the the gauges are easier to read and the cheap plastic doesnt feel or look as cheap as the precious models. Again, I also personally prefer the styling and looks of the 97-03, but the 04 and up do have a look all their own.
