Hi, My name is Mike and this is my first post on this site. Apologizes if this is the wrong place to ask. I just updated to Windows 7 and cannot get my service DVD set to load (set is marked SI.2003.16 08-2003). I get a message saying I do not have sufficient privileges. Is it because my 2003 set will not work on Windows 7? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Mike

What program were you using on the previous installation to view the FSM files before?
Did you copy the Factory service manual to a DVD and are able to see the files?
My FSM can be opened using adobe acrobat reader for instance.
It may not automatically open (the file on dvd) if you are missing or need to download the appropriate program for viewing.
Try right click on file "Open or play With" and point to a program for viewing...

Or, if its an installation program, right click on the setup/install program and click "Run As" then click on the previous version it did run on.

Thank you both for your quick replies. It seems more of a basic problem. I can't even get the DVDs to install. It'* a set of 6 DVDs and the instructions say to install the application disc first. After that goes thru part of the set up Wizard a message pops up and says I do not have necessary privilege to install. This is a set my son had bought several years ago. It seemed to install OK on Windows XP but no go on Windows 7. I don't know if that'* the problem. It does have a prior screen that says to enter a user name and a company name. My son said he didn't remember if that info was entered before. I just hit my 70 mark, still going strong, thankfully, but only love computers when they work.

Then right click and run as administrator. That should take care of the permissions issue.

What Mike said, or you could click the Start menu and type in UAC, then drag that slider to the very bottom, and be done with what I have always called the User Annoyance Control, it may give a warning, ignore it, as long as you have a decent anti-virus installed, and have Windows Firewall on, then you do not need that pain of a feature on, guaranteed that solves the problem, and many problems you may have in the future.
That is there for mostly for those that know nothing at all about what is going on with their PC, that is my 2 cents on it anyway, I have built custom PC'*, and provided tech support to a lot of friends since Window 95.

Also as Art mentioned, you will most likely need the Adobe Acrobat reader, you can get that here.

NOTE: Remove the check in the box that says "Yes, install the free McAfee Security Scan Plus utility to check the status of my PC security. It will not modify existing antivirus program or PC settings." You do not need that installed for Acrobat to work.
