Default Which would you build?

So, I have this '83 Chevette, It used to have a working engine, until my buddy and I built a turbo setup that didn't work out to well, We blew the headgasket before it ever left the shed.

Option A: 1987 Chevrolet 305, 243K
I'm buying my mom a '94 Park Ave L67, So she won't be driving my '87 Vandura anymore. I know the engine will fit, but the car will be very front heavy, Have a very restrictive exhaust, and be automatic. But, what parts aren't available for it? Who can say 383 Stoker?

Option B: 1993 L27, 180K
I just bought my '93 SE back from the guy I sold it to, and the body has taken quite a beating. The engine still purrs, but the tranny is slipping again. I know the GN 3.8L will fit, so I assume this one will. I'd have to find a tranny (Camaro) meaning it would be a 5spd stick. Then there'* the posibility of a Aussie SC and L36 heads, whch suprising ly wouldn't require a hood scoop. It would get better gas milage, and be easier to work on.

But which one do you guys think would be more fun?

this pre-supposes that theres a Texan that will fit in and be willing to drive a Chevette
I thought Texas grew 'em BIG

I'm not a big fan of the 305 so I'd vore for the 3.8

I'm 5'11" and 160lbs. It'* actually the most comfortable car I've ever had, everything is nice and close

Of course I was born near Chicago with parents from Missery and Wyoming...

305. Cheap aftermarket, widely available, and kits for installing a 350 are available and will fit this motor perfectly. Start with the 350 heads and unnel ram intake setup, and go from there. I wouldn't worry about boring, a stroker kit will launch that little car into orbit.

Chevettes are actually pretty good for big drivers, lots of leg room.

um I dont think you can make a 305 into a 383, if it was 350 for sure, but not a 305 :?

No, but you could go for a smaller, higher revving motor. Use the right cam with the 350 headsand you can run that bottom end up at high-RPM, and have a beastly little auto-crosser.
