I have used NTB a few times over the years, always felt like I was dealing with "dirty" people. Always a hustle, never delivering what they stated, etc.
A year ago I hit a pothole a ruined a Michelin tire. NTB was close, so I went to them for the replacement Michelin. The replacement tire leaked, likely around the rim. I fault myself for not encouraging NTB to prep the rim before mounting the new tire.
Brought the tire back to NTB this week to have the tire remounted. They charged me $30 and this included rebalance. I brought in the tire off the vehicle and stated I was in no hurry. Two days later I get a call from NTB stating the work is done. When I check out, I give them my credit card. NTB asks for a ID. I provide it, NTB types in my DL number into the CPU. WTF???
NTB gives me the tire. I inspect it in the parking lot. No new balancing weights, and the rim looks like it did when I brought it in where the tire seals. I have to wonder if they truly remounted the tire and if they balanced it.
Did some googling on NTB and here is what I found:
Ntb-National Tire & Battery - Waltham, MA
2001 Bonneville SSEi, 219,000 miles.
Whats in my driveway:
1998 Chevy S10 4x4 ZR2, 1999 Olds Bravada, 2001 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi, 2007 Ford F-350 regular cab 2WD, 2008 BMW 335i coupe (Wife'* replacement for her Bonneville). The Bonneville is my favorite of all the cars in the driveway.
