Default So I got pulled over last night....

I got pulled over last night by an Ottawa County Sheriff in COOPERSVILLE @ about 1:15am or so, because of the red bulbs I put in place of my parking lights in the front of my car beside the grill. I tried to pull into this trailor park and hide from him but he got me! He says "You can't have any green or red lights in the front of your car... can you shut them off?" I said "Uh no, I'll just have to take them out." I got off with a warning bc I couldn't find my registration (which Chad and I later found in the dash when i went to his house to tell him what happened) and he says "I don't normally do this... but I'm making this citation waivable so you won't get any fines, this really is a pet peive of mine... just replace the bulbs and have any police officer in the state of MI sign the back of this paper and send it in to the court house." I was so pissed I want to yell fat *** when I was pulling away. And having a pet peive about the color of lights on a car... what the H*LL is wrong with cops these days(I think he was just jealous bc my car is better than his and wanted to hassle me a little)?! Find something better to do with your time! I don't smoke weed and never have, I wasn't drinking that night with Chad for once(lucky me) lmao and I normally am not a trouble maker geeeeeeez! My friend Mike in the car with me and Todd says "I bet if him (Todd) and I weren't in the car you would have lowered your shirt and said "oh please officer..." " Needless to say I told him there'* no way in hell I'd act like a ***** to get out of anything I'm not like that I'll take the ticket no matter what and I threatened to beat his @$$ before he had a chance to get out of my car! I'm serious this kid would have been easy to take, I have before, and I had the adrenoline rush to do it! But anyways... that was only my 2nd time getting pulled over... the first time was a speeding ticket in my old car... a ford tempo lmao! Gimme a 4 cylinder and I'll get a speeding ticket... gimme a V6 and I get in trouble bc it'* too pretty for the cops' taste! I'll have the paper signed but the bulbs will remain red/ pinkish afterward... I'll just NEVER go to Coopersville! I told him I've been pass a ton of GR cops and they could give a sh*t less.. he just tells me they don't have time for it... goes to show how boring Coopersville is!!! I also told him "I'm going into the Air Force in January so I REALLY don't need any problems here." And get this... he tried to start talking about it with me.... I was thinking, "WTF?!?! You better get on with your business running my plate and sh*t bc I'm not a very stable blonde all the time , and your time is running out quickly!" Guess I should have pulled the pepper spray out of my glove box when I was reaching for my papers and jacked his sh*t! That would have been sweet but instead of this post... I'd be putting up my mug shots!!! Would have been one h*ll of an adventure for one night! On the way home from Chads which is only like 10 minutes from my house I had a State trooper behind me getting off the high way and then passed THREE GR police on Leonard going the opposite direction, all of which saw my lights, now you tell me are they lazy or do Coopersville police just not have anything better to do with their time!?!? CRAZY stuff I'm telling you! I'm just glad Chad didn't kill me for being out late and getting into trouble LOL! He laughed and told me to go home and get to bed!

Wow that doesn't sound like fun. When I had 00 neon black neon cops would always give me hard time. Once I was accused of racing their was nobody else on the street who would I be racing/ And it neon 2.0 olny makes 125 hp now would I really be racing in that. Then becuase the cop took so long 45 Imins to writet ticket I feel a sleep I had ben up for 36 hrs which was only for speeding Some times a venting is good.

I love it! You sound like the typical "cops all suck" thinking American.

They let you off easy and you flip them the bird as you drive away. Then talk **** about them on an internet forum.

Actually, red and blue lights in the front of your car are illegal in most states because some people confuse them with being emergency vehicle lights. And the ones you replaced are also blinkers, so it would be easier to confuse then. In most states you have to have a special permit card inorder to run those color lights (I have a blue light permit somewhere.) I am actually surprised you didn't get pulled over sooner for this. Consider yourself lucky and replace them.

While I agree, I think I would have put it more politely.

The wierd colored lights may look cool, but it'* been posted here, at least once a month for as long as I've been here, that you're definitely taking your chances running them.

Some cops figure it'* minor and they have more important stuff to worry about. Some don't. You got lucky and found a happy medium. Call it a lesson learned, and move on....

PS, since you probably have no clue who I am yet, I used to be a cop....

The way I look at it is simple.

The cops pull us over because of something we are usually doing. You put the wrong color in....you got pulled over. Vent as you must... he let you off completely. Made it super easy and nice.

Whenever I'm pulled over I am as nice and courteous as I can be. I'm the reason I got pulled over (trust me). That cop is doing a job I would never want. And they are doing it for crappy pay if you ask me. Each time they walk up to a car they could be risking their lives.

Simply put, take your warning and be glad he didn't give you a fine or make you leave the car because you couldn't take the bulbs out there. I can only imagine how upset you might be if he added $200 fine onto pulling you over.
