for any jaguar guru'* / fans
hey so my buddy drives a Jag XJ6. He'* having probelms with the speakers. we've replaced them twice and they blow out. Its only the two bass speakers that sit under the back seat. They are 4" phillips speakers, Jaguars 1990 subwoofer wanna be i guess, but the speakers blow out and the bass is set to low. im pretty good with sound, and im stuck. and all we listen to is Big & Rich and Trace Adkins. not like they should be blowing out that soon.
by the way, the bonneville SE kicks the (fill in the blank) out of the jaguar off the line
i need an SSEi to finish the rest of the race though.

my parents have an 84 xj6. its a really nice car. but a real pain in the ace. they would need to hire a full time mechanic just to keep it running all the time. always breaking down.
but its not geared for off the line. its meant for highway. its very easy to pass 90 mph w/o even noticing you are.

i do know that the speakers suck

yes we are giving the speakers time to break in
basically this car was a gift to mark and all he had to do was to get it to run. turns out the injectors were clogged and it started right up. 165,000 and its real solid
im thinking maybe the speakers arent good enough for the wattage of the stereo. its stock jaguar if anyone knows what kind of wattage that system puts out. im a GM guy, or BMW guy ( dad'* on his 3rd 7 series) not jaguar.
any suggestions help. with anyones help, by saturday afternoon were gonna work on our cars. My grille issue and the speakers on his car. when i work solo, usually it turns into an all day event...like my angel eyes 9 hr install.
