im sure theres a couple of ford guys that will chime in, but you will probably get many more response if you posted on a mustang forum.
that is, if you have'nt already.

Shift kit for your AOD slushbox. Called the "J-MOD" at tccoa.com. They have tons of stuff relating to your car. Just be warned, trying something that is "different" could get you ostracized.
Maybe a chip
Headers won't fit unless specifically for the Thunderbird/Cougar or you modify the steering shaft to accommodate the Mustang headers.
Gears are fairly simple, cheap if you do it yourself(if you have the tools and know-how).

ok well a i cant really afford much like the true duel exhaust but what if i made just the single pipe in the middle larger and installed a high flow cat, resinator, and flowmasters or some other mufflers. im already working on finding somebody who knows how to install the 4.10 ring and pinion im buying myself for x-mas cause i havent the slightest clue how to dot hat. and from reading up on that ratio it should have a bit more kick off the line right?
