Internet Addiction
I'm just doing a little survey here to see if people think that frequent use of the internet is making changes to your life. (negative impact) An addiction means that it has changed your life. almost like it controls it. you can't do without it. Excessive ammounts of time spent online is a good indicator of an addiction. So, if you would, do the poll. thanks. Some may think that some of the poll options are just rediculous or funny. Truth is though, I bet there are some out there that fit that desciption unforunately. Let me know. thanks again!

thanks for the replies guys! Exactly what I'm looking for.. The reason I ask is because I have been noticing a trend with some people that message forums are replacing what would normally be face-to-face social interaction. If it gets bad enough it can leed to severe depression. If you think about it a forum is much like a conversation you would normally have. one person will ask a question, or make a comment. Then, you await a response. Sometimes a response can take hours, or sometimes even days. It'* not a 'normal' type of conversation you would have. The delay is there.

I voted 1-2, but easily would be 3-5 if I had internet at home (I'm presently only online at work, or occasionally at a friend'* house ). Dan I definitely think internet forums have partially replaced FTF interactions as you mentioned... but on the flip side, forums have also allowed me to "meet" people (virtually, that is) and make friends that I never would have come in contact with otherwise. I've certainly been in that addictive phase before (in college) when I got real familiar and spent many hours a day on UNIX newsgroups, the predecessor to internet forums. There were no images and few hotlinks then, just text. Now I have too much IRL stuff going on, or I'd be online even more than I already am. It'* definitely a balancing act...

Six to nine, simply because regardless of home or work, getting online is to easy, high speed (DSL, T1) makes it childs play, and its used as a quick resource for...anything.
Oh and of course these forums take up my time too haha!
