Amp question for a JL W6
I am running a W6 in the jeep and it really isnt that loud. I have this amp running it. 500w mono amp http://www.sasbazooka.com/productAut...sEL.asp?id=198
This sub is like a $350-400 sub and yeah it sounds good but it isnt hitting as hard as I thought it would. My 2 - 12 bazooka'* (like 80 bucks each) running with that amp is twice maybe 3 times as loud.
Am I under powering it?
The amp is totally maxed out right now.
If so what are your suggestions for running a W6?
Oh the box is custom made with the right specs (supposely) it is also ported.

it shouldn't be hurting you... Make sure it'* setup as 2-ohm, though, which it should be...
Have you checked your headunit? Try plugging it in to one of the other preouts and see what happens. uhh, other than that, it could be a bunch of things. how'* old'* the battery?

how many watts rms is that amp at what ohm load.? and how many watts is the sub and is it dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm sub.? the amp is definetly not strong enough for that sub.. im sure of it but you should also realize that with the 2 bazooka subs you were running before the w6 you were pushing more air space as you had 2 subs pushing air and thus causing alot more vibration.. ( common science ) but i would say get a jl 500/1 or a kicker 1200.1 and blow that sub to the max..
and this should be in the audio section.. it will probally be moved soon..
just for future refrence..
