amp install in my girlfriends car
hey guys. my girlfriend has a saturn LS1 and I was considering hooking up her rear door speakers to an already existing 4 channel amp in her car. My question is how difficult would it be for me to do it? and how would I run the wires? I can get her doors off in about 2 minutes flat but I wasn't sure how to run the wires from the speaker to the amp. If the amp is already installed, should I just tackle it myself in about a half an hour to an hour? Or is it woth me just paying an installer 50-60 bucks to do it for me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We're going to need some specs here.
What speakers are in the rear doors?
What brand and model is the amp?
How is the amp currently wired?
Nice cars BTW, esp. with the 5spd.

I wouldn't if the rear speakers are factory. Factory squakers are high-ohmage (I want to say 10 ohm or something like that) and could make for a very unhappy amp and an even unhappier female unit.

Yes, 4 ohm speakers are the norm, but Saturn for some ungodly reason used higher-than-normal ohmage speakers in their earlier productions. I remember they sounded pretty dang good with the high-end cassette deck (I dated these 2 girls, both with white SC2s both with tan leather, both with high-end factory decks, and both girls names were the same )

Even bonneville rear 6x9'* are 8 or 10 ohm.
What kind of HU is it?
We need more details on the amp. (types of imputs etc)
I would definately do it yourself, its not rocket science, you just have to think ahead.

i just want to know how hard it would be to run the wiring from the speakers to the amp. I would never ever ever ever run factory speakers to an aftermarket amp. I was just running the amp in three channel mode to the fronts and a sub with the rears running off of the HU.
