Lambaste me if you want, but I actually do have a problem with that.

It is a federal law. Local law enforcement 'didn't know how to handle it'.

I admire the old fart. That took guts.

Fly whatever flag you want on US soil. But if it'* flying with an american flag, it better be below it, or on another pole lower than the US flag.

While the old guys approach was wrong, the matter of fact is. the flag display is what they consider insulting. To display one countries flag over another is saying "This country dominates the one beneath it". Flags of any nation can be flown, I don't care. But you had best put it on it'* own flag pole, not above, below, or anywhere in between Ol' Glory. It'* just one of those things you DO NOT DO. One thing I must note that I did not like was how the vet man handled the flag. You do not crumple the flag, You fold it properly, and treat it with respect.

I just find it strange that a county has to have laws to tell citizens how, where, and when to fly their flag.

I also find it strange that in Texas, they can and do fly the state flag above the stars and stripes. (at least from my observations during a week long visit)

However, I do not believe that flying another countries flag above your own on the same flag pole is a smart thing to do anywhere. It would offend me.

Wow totally different opinions on this then the yuma, az Jeep forum I joined (considering all the illegals here). Everyone over there was like hell yeah! I agree too! You dont know how many times I came across people coming over the border illegally, it just adds to it. There was a couple of times where there were chases that I saw with my own eyes, THESE GUYS ARE RELENTLESS! One time this Dodge ram ran right into a Military Police cruser trying to kill him literally, The Marine jumped out just right before it happened and pulled his pistol all this was caught on tape from the cruiser (which I had to make copies of). I am not racist at all but it adds to my view of the Mexican flag over the American flag. Plus being a veteran myself and serving a tour in Iraq adds to it even more. Either way that was very disrespectfully and If were there I would have asked the guy to take it down, and if he didn't stop what he was doing right then and there to do it, I wouldn't have called the cops I would have done exactly what that guy did, I wouldn't cared for the repercussions. They do not deserve to own an american flag if they are going to be doing business IN america and wont show the proper respect to it.

The Texas flag is the only state flag that can fly at equal mast to the US flag. If you saw a texas flag flying higher than that person/people were breaking the law.

I am a Canadian living in the US and would never think about flying the Canadian flag at all. I am not in Canada and have no business flying any flag other than the US or Texas flags.

Thats my opinion.

Federal law? Really? I find that hard to believe because its not illegal to burn the flag.

Just seems weird that you can burn the flag, but not fly it under a different nation'* flag.
