Fellerz

OK, my pic whoring days have come to an abrupt stop. XP refuses to load the drivers for my digital camera. Its a Canon Powershot600.

Once I go into the PhotoImpact software I get a message about not being able to load twain.dll and to get it from source disk and put into Windows folder. But I downloaded the drivers right from the Canon site...so I'm a bit frustrated and perplexed.

Have you tried the built in capture software for windows? Double click on the camera icon in My Computer, it should bring up a wizard. try it out and let us know.

Ok go to the add/remove under control panel and uninstall that PhotoImpact software.
Than go to the system icon open that and click the hardware tab then the device manager button. My digi connects via usb so it shows up under usb controllers. But check to see if it thinks the camera is installed might show up under I think its called digital scanners, or look for an or :?: if thoes arn't there the next thing is click on the action menu at the top and click scan for hardware changes.

Than let me know what ya got.

OK..did the wizard like Sol said...no dice..didn;t have Canon listed, so when I inserted the driver disk, it looked for an .ini file and no luck

On that driver disk you need to look for an *.inf file not *.ini.
