Remember this is a global economy now, with a global market. Asian import is not even accurate as most Hondas and Toyotas are built here.

I dunno how on earth these engineers do it. but they've built quite a package. I dont like Civics, never had, as they are to "bread and butter" cars for me.

They've even widened the seats to accomodate larger "North American" butts.

GM, Ford and Chrysler arent doing anything wrong in comparision to these "import" cars, but I won't deny how impressive Honda, Toyota, Nissan have become in the last 10 years.

Sadly the 06 Civic SI will walk 95% of us. 191hp in a car as light as a teabag.
SOOOOO... what does it run? Anything running sub 15s gets my respect.

Its slighly faster than the Acura RSX-*
a bit lighter and better gearing.

With a good driver they can run 14.6 @ 94- 96mph depending on the conditions of the track.

They are quick

14.6 gets my respect then. However, rockers on my desk says time to smoke 14 second car.

I am not a traitor okay?

I may hear (figurative, I can't hear anyway) a lot of bashings, name callings, and potentially the cold shoulder.

But I admit I'm amazed by the new Honda Si (2006) The styling is new and wild without being excessive, it may be cheap but it sure looks expensive. It'* ultra responsive on a track (seen on "Test Drive" on Speed Channel) It can go really fast, just imagine a $3000 supercharger or a turbo on it and it'll be gee-whiz fast.

I still refuse to purchase imports, but I certainly respect the Si'* new claws now.
Don't worry, I'm still keeping Big Bertha, she'* done good and still is.

Dont be shy to express your opinion.

I think they are amazing too, anybody that tell they arent have a problem(im not talking about beauty of the car) but im talking about the technology and the fact that this is only a 4 cylinder.

I love cars and this is good engineering, no matter its a 4 banger or V12.

Those Vtec engines are nuts. A guy I know has done a bunch of work to his Integra ... even upgraded the cams. It'* a beast from what I hear.

Still like My Bonnevilles tho

Eventho I don't care for certain makes...

I have to give Honda, Toyota, Nissian and a few others Props...
Personally, I have come to the realization that I dislike a specific type/group of people that the small hondas seem to attract. The cars themselves are just another car.
