And what I find most amusing of all... 40 years after it'* first flight, the Boeing 737 is still in production. It'* the Chevy of commercial aircraft. And there are more 737'* on order that all the aircraft AirBus industries have ever made.

A fair bit larger... the 777 in most configurations is shorter and has a smaller wingspan than the 747 family, and the A380 is bigger than even the 747-800 Intercontinental. Here'* a nice image comparing the 747-800I, A380, Spruce Goose, and An-225.

As long as it has more leg room...

I don't care if it is made by communist, French pig-monkeys smearing dollar bills in grease and applying them to German sausages using rowdy English football hooligans playing La Marseillaise on Russian kossack ***-cheeks.

I fly 20 hour overseas trips routinely and any company that gives me more leg room will get my business. The airline industry has treated us like sardines for far too long.

The manufacturer does not dictate how many seats go on the plane - that'* determined by the airline, for the most part. If Delta, United, SkyWest, etc. think they can get away with squeezing a few more fares on board, they'll do it. Buying a jet is a little different than buying a car - the manufacturer asks the customer how they want it configured (within reason, of course). It'* the airline companies that are treating you like a sardine, not Airbus, Boeing, Canadair, etc.
