Business first.

Until yesterday afternoon, I was under the assumption that everyone had received thier packages. I left them in my office with instructions to be mailed priority before I left for Texas (More on that below). When Bill Wren called me and let me know he hadn't received his scantool and that there were four other people with missing "stuff", I was totally stunned. This morning I called over and had someone go into my office and low and behold the packages were still sitting where I left them.

I've asked that they be shipped out by tomorrow morning and I will E-Mail the recipients the tracking information as soon as it has been received. Once I've confirmed that the packages have arrived, I will be refunding the shipping costs and 50% of what you all paid for your various items as a token of my deepest apologies for the time and money you wasted in this endeavor. I am not a thief and I really and trully sorry for this.

Now the rest.

I posted awhile back that I might be buying a datacenter in downtown Dallas. What I didn't expect was the deal to happen days after I returned from meeting the former owners. The bottom line is that I've now doubled my capacity and with the acquisition of a second data center, I'm now open to a whole new class of datacenter services.

The downside to this is an aproximately 18 month stay Deep in the Heart of SomewhereOtherThanHome. My wife has taken this in stride because the change in revenue has given me the ability to help her open her own holistic health center when we get home. This is a good thing. The downside has been the 18 hour days, 3 hours of sleep, blistering heat, and living in a freaking corporate hotel-suite-apartment.


About COTM, obviously, I'm unable to maintain the new pages for the archive, however it is my offer to the community to provide reliable hosting for the archive for at least the next 5 years or beyond. Someone else will have to load up the new pages (I will work with whomever volunteers to make sure they're all set up), but I can't design the new pages.

Tracy, you have my profound apologies for not getting your page up while you were COTM. I've done a whole lot of apologizing in this post, but for you, I really feel like I hurt the worst.

Anyway, the way things worked out really sucks, but it is what it is and I hope at some point you guys will allow me back into the community. I'm not driving a bonneville right now, but I intend on changing that when I get home. (Don't even ask what I'm stuck with. It'* American, but thats about where the compliments stop).

Yes, good to hear from you and when you have the time and do return, I am sure all will welcome you back. I, for one, had begun to wonder if you had falllen off the face of the Earth, lol. Good to hear that'* not the case, because I have been planning a trip to the face of the Earth...
