Upgraded to vista
Just upgraded to vista ultimate. Had it a few days now and I am liking it. A lot of neat features that I like. One of my favorites:

I'm really liking Vista as well. I have 2gigs of ram on my laptop and haven't really experienced any of this lag or "slowness" that people have complained of. It is kind of a PITA though if you want to apply a different theme than Aero.

I threw away my copy of Vista 2 weeks ago. Getting Windows Update borked from a November update and failing at deciphering cryptic error codes to get it working again was the last straw. That and I don't prefer my machine to run like it was built from 1999.

1337ssei has a water cooled Core 2 Q6600 that he overclocks with 2GB of OCZ DDR21150 and an 8800GTS he bought from me. That runs Vista pretty well, but it'* annoying to know that awesome PC could run better if it were to have just about anything else. However, the water in Crysis looks really cool. I think that if you have the goods to run it, you should for the DX10. Even so, though, most new games will still run on DX9. I like the option of exercising my right to free market capitalism by using only DX9 and lower products to try to make a difference, though. Vista may be cool, but it allows you to increase the demand of DX10 software.
As for me, I sold my Core 2 Duo E6600 to a friend, and another friend got my 2GB of DDR2 800 memory. Before I sold my stuff so as to upgrade, I was running XP so I could still play games but also not have lag. BUAHAHAHAHHAHA! The temporary replacements I've been using have all had either Linux or XP.

the laptop i just bought came with Vista, im undecided on it yet.
I havent played with a lot of the features, probably never will, i just like to get on the computer and do my thing, nothin fancy.
As for lag, this thing is actually faster than my old desktop, granted its got 3GB of RAM, which I might add, it was using close to 30% of it right out of the box, which is awfully close to a GB, thats a bit much for just an operating system as far as im concerned.
Ive also had some compatibility issues, for example im probably going to have to buy another mouse, or hope a friend has an extra that works, because my 5 button A4 Tech mouse doesnt like vista, despite the fact it installs properly, im still exploring that though.
Im also going to have to find drivers for an SD card, which just should not be so.

Even though I can obtain a fully legal copy of vista for no charge I will not run it until I get 4GBs of ram. I have 2 right now and its plenty fast with XP.

I am running a core 2 duo e6700 with 2 gig of ram and I haven't had any lag. But all I do is schoolwork and mess with my videos on here. Don't do a lot of game playing, but a lot of web surfing. A lot of music playing too.
