'93 Cadillac Seville...things to look for?
So, I may possibly be going to look at a 1993 Cadillac Seville STS.

The price is hard to pass up. The rebuilt transmission is a good thing, and that sort of mileage on an engine doesnt bother me. The transmission is the weak point, but it looks like thats been taken care of already.
I only owe about 500 on the Intrigue, so I could buy that car, sell the Intrigue in the 3k neighborhood and pay off both with money to burn, plus have a car that should last for a good long while.
Im nervous of the fact it has an overheating problem, ive asked them to describe it further, if its been looked at by a mechanic, how many times has it done it, etc. I know that overheating an aluminum engine like that can be asking for trouble.
The only downside is that it probably wouldnt get as good of gas mileage as the Intrigue, and it might need Premium gas, I would probably get a scantool since theyre pretty cheap for OBD I.

stay away, unless you want a troublesome engine.
When the Northstar blows a head gasket, it overheats. Same thing happen to my buddies 4.0 Aurora. From what I understand, it is NOT a fun job.
Ask them how many miles it takes to overheat.
