I just spent four hours on line and on hold trying to get my damn modem and wifi router to work, and if I hear "Is your computer plugged in?" ever again, I'm gonna buy ammo.
I went through four "techs" at three companies, with three obviously foreign accents, and only one of them had had any training beyond how to go through a flow chart of FAQBS. Thankfully the one with training got the cable modem straightened out from his end, and the last girl(obvious Indian accent) had a good flow chart, so I am now using my new WiFi router, and loving not having to haul that damn cable out.


BTW, thanks to Badnit for recommending the router. In spite of set-up troubles, it'* now working beautifully, and is actually running noticeably faster than the USB cable I was on before. (Ethernet port on the old modem didn't work, exchanged it today, half the problem).

ME!!! Except I have the luxury of saying "I'll have the manager on duty come over and show you how to sign on. They usually have no problem then. LOL
