tools in the tool box
Along with the advice necessary to keep my car running, I picked up a lot of ideas on the Bonneville Forum for tools, gizmos and gadgets to stock my toolbox with to help diagnose problems and get my car up and running again. I'm not talking about the basics, like a socket set, screw drivers, wrenches, hammers, pictures of the latest Snap On model, etc. I mean the stuff you don't think about until you have one, and find out how much it helps.
I'll show you mine if you show me yours:
What useful little items do you have in your tool box?
By the way, a "persuador" is a length of pipe that fits over the end of a ratchet wrench or a Johnson bar to give the extra leverage necessary to break those difficult fasteners free.
I'll show you mine if you show me yours:
- mechanic'* stethoscope
- inspection mirror on telescoping rod
- magnetic pick up on telescoping tod
- infrared thermometer (non contact temp readings from a distance)
- C clamp (for compressing brake cylinders)
- nylon tie straps
- cordless Dremel
- can of No-Sieze
- electrical multi meter
- persuadors

Other then those, I think you covered most of the basics. My list of basics goes way further then most.

We all know he has way more tools. He won't post it in case the Mrs. sees the post and asks how much money he spent.

Bill'* being a bit modest. He'* really Mr. GoodWrench disguised behind the ever present can cooler wrapped beverage.........I was amazed how well he has the large weekend following trained to almost keep things in order. Professor style mechanical dialogue, great host, and a never empty fridge in easy reach.
