Sell My Alero?
Well guys..Ive put around 40,000 kms on it, havent had to spend much money on it until now.
Warranty is up and the **** is slowly hittin the fan...
Window Regulators, engine has a tick now and then..might be normal..im not sure..
Transmission is acting up periodically...it aint gettin any better.
I just spent 300 on new brakes up front, full tune up 5000 kms ago..stuff like that.
I think 5000 is owing on it..probably get 8000 for it fully cleaned up..and it does clean up REALLY well.
So..what should I start looking at?
Dont hate me..but I was thinking Bonneville GXP?
New Pontiac G5 with 5spd?
20,000 dollar price range..nice low payments around 400/month.
So..should I start to look?

The Bonneville? Lol..I cant drive that car everyday now.
Ive come to realize that lately.
10-12 mpg around town..the transmission is always only moments away from sudden failure in it..even though its new..
It eats tires, motor mounts, brakes, belts, money...shes a good car, I love driving it daily..but If i had something else to share the mileage I would be happy
Maybe an 03 SSEi?
Theres an 01 SSEi with 185,000 miles goin for 4000 but...i mean common...shes gettin up there...lol

think about it. sell the alero for 8K, and buy a new car at 20K?
you could but 10K into fixing up the Alero and it would still be cheaper. it does get more expensive as cars get older, but it is almost always cheaper to drive a car until it dies than to sell it and buy a new one.

And I agree with you 100%.
I've been tossing that Idea around as well.
I would love something more reliable, but I would love something that I enjoy as well, Kind of how I enjoy my SSEi but I can only drive it 5 months a year..Id like something thats good for 365. Im gunna keep my eyes open though...

I thought about getting rid of my money pit (00 alero gls) but after all the math its cheaper to just keep fixing it then spending another 15k on a good used car....
Just remember the 60* V6 family is known for making noises such as lifter knock, piston slap and just plain wierd noises but they never really blow up....
