The point was people think people spanking their son or daughter as bad and they use alternative measures to discipline, yes there are alternative measures in certain situations but spanking is very useful in most. Parents are so jacked up now because they didnt recieve disciple when they were little and now let there daughters and sons to do what ever they want and sometimes even participate with them.

I tend to agree that todays generation is, to put it nicely, much less reserved than say my generation (and this would be the majority of this forum), due to political correctness, affirmative action, and lawyers that are happy to sue anyone that makes a mistake. Sadley, much of the parenting we received (or rather, the pew-nish-ments we were dealt) would be considered heinous today. IMO, it is my generation that now has to write the book on parenting again as what we learned from our parents (who learned from their parents) is not acceptable by todays standards.
This closely relates to teachers as well. Even as late as my senior year at school (1995), teachers had *some* leeway in making, breaking, and/or bending rules to suit particular situations. I remember my health teacher (who was a coach) showing a video that involved beach bunnies(!!!) mixed with....you guessed it....the video on human reproduction. Unorthodoxed...yes. But it got our attention, and wouldn't you know it...most of the students did well in that class. Another teacher shared his knowledge on how to properly hone a knife...not during class, mind you, but still.....
