Default iPhone

Anyone Have One?

I have CellularOne right now, and i got a thing in the mail saying CellOne was bought by AT&T. So In January i will be able to get an iPhone. My question is is it worth it? I was going to be gettting a new phone soon anyway, so now i might just wait until Jan and get an iPhone. But its a lot of money to pay, if its not worth the price.
And i probably will get a 2yr. contract so it wont be full price.

Cell one bought RCC
Cingular bought CellularOne.
Then Cingular bought AT&T Wireless.
The AT&T bought CINGULAR back.

(that'* how it went down over the last 12 years I've been a customer).

Worth it? Not in my opinion. It does a bunch of stuff you won't use in the long-term. Surfing the web on a phone isn't new, and isn't popular for a reason.

I'd agree with that, if you've chosen the "iLife" approach. It will and already has been a hit for die hard Mac fans and for techno-geeks that need the newest coolest things. However, the bulk of those multimedia phones is controlled by RIM and their Blackberry. Businesses have married into the Blackberry and can't see them changing.

For my own use, I can't have anything that complicated in my pocket. I need a phone that just makes calls.

It really just depends what you want on the phone. Do you want blazing high speeds? or do you want something to show off to your friends? To me, even though i love the iPhone, I will admit it is a gimmick. The lack of 3G support, tethering, and lack of certain bluetooth features were enough for me to forego the iPhone. But it is very cool, just lacking features. With that in mind, I did not answer, just because it could be the phone for you, but it might not. Don't kill me, Vince

It depends on what you want, like others stated. Since you're considering it, it seems like you like the features it has and would use them. :?: Do you have iTunes right now? If so, and you want more out of a phone, I think the iPhone would be a very good choice, and it'* an Apple product so you know you're not getting garbage.

I know I want one eventually. I would use all the features. It'* easier to use than any other smartphone, cleaner looking, doesn't have the cluster of a keyboard always in your face, and it'* the best iPod ever created so far. For me it would be worth it to save some money up.

Too be honest i am not really a big fan of the "iProducts" In general i just do not really like apple products. But thats just my point of view. To add to the discussion..have you looked at any other phone?? for example Nokia N95? or Sony Ericsson P1i. I just purchased the P1i 3 days ago...one hell of a phone if you ask me.

Sony Ericsson P1o

Nokia N95(built in gps)

N95 was actually rated the best media phone of 2007/2008

If you're gonna stick with a non-iPhone smartphone (or whatever), stick with Windows Mobile; don't go to a proprietary OS. I've never liked Symbian and probably never will... Check out the AT&T 8525
