They only made 16 cars with the L89 option in 67 and only 20 of the L88 cars were made in 67. The L88 was rate at 430 hp from the factory but some reports have the actual number at closer to 560 hp from the factory. They rated it at 430 so the average Joe would buy the 435 thinking they were getting the better motor. The L88 option was $946 more at the time when the base price of the car was $4100.
