Valentines Day.
I'm sure someones eyes just got big as they remembered it'* back. That'* right, Monday is valentines day.
So what are you doing for your special someone?
I've got a little arts and craft project I'm working on, a simple box with hearts and inside some "favors". Then I decided that wasn't enough, so I started working on a script that will spit out a message depending on the day, figure I'll hide it on her computer and make it run on start-up. It will have random generic "I love you'*", special occasions will have special messages: Happy birthday, anniversary, etc. I'm sure I'll get more creative with it later, maybe even make it so I can update it remotely...
My last girlfriend would have got a program that said "I love you" as it compressed and sent me a log of all IM'*, Emails, and typed passwords :P Having a trustworthy significant other saved me a few lines of code.

My wifes not to much in to that stuff. I'm happy about that, I think it'* another waste of time. I tell her I love her every day, don't need a special day to tell me to do it. Also, she hates flowers.

I find that most women want lots of "affection", meaning even if you are swamped at work or buried under your car, you better take 10 seconds to let her know she'* still your top priority, even though we already know and admit this. So I figure why not automate the process a bit.

Never had a SO on V-day. Ever. No worries though. If I ever do have do deal with that, uh, "problem" (highly unlikely), I work in retail. Its not like we can forget it. We've had the place covered in hearts, chocolate, flowers, candy, etc since the day after Christmas. We had most of the crap in the back room since Thanksgiving. I'm surprised the BBQs/deck chairs/bug spray/patio sets/pool toys haven't shown up already!
Stupid "Hallmark Holidays" we call em. Made up events to guilt people into spending more of their money on disposable crap.
Though, I have been known to buy/send stuff to platonic female friends of mine, if they were single, so they wouldn't feel left out of the whole "event". Cuz, really, you never know when they "might just know this girl at work" that I might be interested in.

Allowing myself to be drug (should read "drugged") to a Marriage Conference that touts bringing couple closer together..... Why do I get the feeling in the end, they cause more marriages to fracture. Men don't want to hear what really makes them feel closer to their wives. It'* like; "You do the laundry and dishes, I'll mow the acres, get wood, keep the vehicles running/and everything will be fine. Whats for Dinner?"
