I just changed a set of spart plugs on a 2000 GMC Safari and I have never seen a more stupid design than that. You have to put the P.O.*. up on a lift and wedge your hand and a socket wrench up in a tiny A$$ area to get them out and then back in! I was about to set the *.O.B. on fire!!!!

DIE SAFARI, DIE!!!!

ah, now I feel better............

I can relate...I used to drive a 93 Safari in my former life. Not a bad van, just hell to work on.

The one time I tried to change the plugs on the Astro, I couldn't find a way to see more than the back two. You can't even see the front of the engine in that freakin' thing.

But it makes a great camper....

... tried removing the "dog house"?

If I recall correctly, the plugs are MUCH more easily accessible when you remove the interior engine cover. Dad brought home a '90 Safari during the time that the SSE was being parked, didn't have it for long, nothing more than a tune up and a sale for a quick profit.

Hell, it'd probably be an easier job than a 3800'* plugs this way. Just conjecture though.
