on another forum i go to, the members that contribute, have a logo that says "donating member". like where we have "posts like a space shuttle". that would be a cool thing to have, if you implemented donations.

We also had MANY 'defectors' or 'refugees' (whatever you want to call it) After the February 2007 sale of TN... another spinoff site was actually created as a result, and all of us old TN chums still hang there.
ToyotaNation also had the "Supreme" optional donation system in effect *long* BEFORE the board changed ownership. There were plenty of perks to be had with the paid membership including eliminated ads, exclusive forums, larger avatars, among other things.

I have 2 questions.
1. How much bandwidth per month does BC use on average?
2. How large (in Megabytes) is the SQL Database in which the forum data is located?

Wow, this thread exploded during the time I wasn't here. Nicely done.
I'm really confused about the popups now. I've only gotten two, and I was on BC and Gmail at the time. Since then, no more popups. I have Zone Alarm Security Suite, which takes care of all sorts of adware, spyware, and viruses as well as providing a firewall. I wonder what happened.
I've worked with phpBB for a long time, and I can help write a new header.tpl that would have ads in individually paid for ad space. It'* much more cost effective and far more rewarding when you do not use Google Ads as your main income source. Try redoing the colors to this:
Border: #555555
Title #BO2020
Backgound: #F7F7F7
Text: #5D5D5D
URL :#BO2020
That would help bring more attention to them as opposed to just red with a white background without disturbing site colors. Use either #F7F7F7 or #DFDFDF as the background color, and see which one you like better. I really like the lighter one.

Guys, we have Pay it Forward, and I believe none of us thinks that'* just asking for handouts. Some weird logic is being used here. How come it feels wrong "to ask for handouts," but then you put all these ads on here? I'd much rather have a beggar than a bureaucrat.
You could retain the red Google ads at the bottom and at the top put an ad place where people pay you directly either a subscription fee or a fee per click. The top bar has a lot of room for expansion. You have room for "Advertise" and "Donate."
