Default New User with a A/C question!

Hi eveyone! I have 2003 Chevy Tracker 2-door Conv. with the 4 cyl. 2.0L engine. The A/C compressor is very poor for that small vehicle. I was wondering if the the Compressor from the 4-door, with the V-6 engine could be modified to work with the 4 cyl. I noticed that the mounting seems to be different, which didn't surprise me. I Like the vehicle but, it just doesn't seem to handle the heat here in Phoenix. I get cold air but not enough. The system is charged to the max and system is working okay. I was told that the compressor is just very small and does not work well in very hot temps.

Welcome to the site.

Before trying to go to that point, check the EVAP core to make sure it'* clean. Here'* a write up on a H body, should give you a good idea what needs to be done. https://www.gmforum.com/normal-maintainence-138/evap-clean-278997/

Looking at my Tracker, the only thing that looks even remotely similar to what you are talking about is in the center of firewall. Two screws with a ground wire attached to one of them. I resently changed the cabin air filters. I turned on the blower and got some dirt and stuffing coming out of the opening.

Can you see down in to the hole where the filter is? The core might be in there.
