I had moth balled my 1992 Buick Park Ave Ultra after hearing a horrible rattle coming from the engine bay and finding that it was coming from the supercharger. I loved the car too much to put it out to pasture, but couldn't swing the four hundred fifty bucks for a used low mileage supercharger. Thanks to a posting on ebay noting the ZZP coupler as a possible solution and the tech write ups from this site, my big black Buick is back on the road! (Though the nose assy is still leaking a bit -- groan). I guess I'll try and apply the parts numbers that your members provided to get a new set of bearings and a seal pressed into the nose assy as soon as I can find a willing machine shop in the DFW, TX area. I had given up hope on ever modifying my Series 1 after being told by numerous Series II Pontiac GTP owners about problems with the 4T65E which was supposed to be stronger than my 4T60E and being told that the Series I supercharger was spinning at its optimum speed and would only create parasitic heat losses if I tried to go to a smaller pulley.

I was introduced to a Fiero enthusiast who had experience modifying the */c 3800 via a friend who'* a Buick Grand Nat'l owner. He reassured me that the 4T60E is not as fragile as I had suspected as long as I keep it cool and convinced me to try a 94/95 supercharger and throttle body assy. Your site has provided quite a few examples of Series 1 enhancements that I'd like to try (finances allowing). I've since saved a frew nickels and bought a 94/95 supercharger and throttle body off of the web, but haven't installed it as I'm hoping to get a 2.5 inch pulley pressed onto it. (Are there any Pontiac Bonneville Club members in the DFW, TX area with a pulley tool that will take a few bucks in trade for their expertise?) I don't plan on installing the */c and throttle body until I've got the suggested colder spark plugs, better wires, cold air intake, and better flowing muffler in place. I still need to find an example of the parts recipe for building my own CAI, a recommendation for stiffer struts (mine are terribly fatigued), and the part numbers for a better sway bar. I'm hoping that the 92 - 99 Pontiac J-Body parts swap without major issues between the 92-99 Pontiac and 92-96 Buick variations.

Hey Man, I'm over here two miles from Arkansas, 87BonnevilleTX is in Houston. We're about all there is in Texas.

Use a standard 3-jaw puller. The pulleys are steel on the Series 1. Open the intake, too.

The 4T60 does seem to be less troublesome than the 65 IF you keep it cool (note my signature).

You'll probably also need the an AFC calibrator if you swap SC/TB. That seems to be the norm, so if you're not interested in dropping that much money, stick with the 2.2" on your current sc.

I've crafted a big writeup in the performance board. You have a 2.5" pulley on your SC, i assume that'* the one you're using. They're keyed not press fit, and all you need is a std gear puller and impact (it reaaaaly helps, makes it a 10 minute ordeal).

Schaweet!! I think it'* even cooler to mod a Park Ultra, because that is what it is -ULTRA!! Bonnevilles are somewhat sleepers, but they still have an aggressive look to them. The Park Ultra Screams like banshee and the cops don't even look twice -at least not until it'* gone and there'* nothing to do but think "What the hell did I just see?!?!?"
