Default What’* broke I'm running out of Ideas

Ok, 1997 Bonneville 160K, This all started when a Check Eng light came on for a cylinder 4 misfire. Shortly after the supercharger started to make noise (similar to a meat grinder!). Now it will jerk and stutter when you give it more than a touch of throttle. The boost gage will peg out into the yellow and the tranny hesitates to shift unless you back off the gas. I have done a complete tune up (plugs, wires, PCV, air filter and oil) with no change in performance. I have pulled the SC belt and the vehicle will run through the gears without incident. So I'm leaning away from tranny trouble. A miss or any misfire is not apparent at idle or in park or neutral. Some are saying it'* a bad coil pack, CAT, or the Supercharger is just done for. Any advice?? My ride to work is getting interesting to say the least.

Hi Dslattz. Welcome to the group. What I'd suggest is that you copy this information and repost it in the 92-99 section where it will get more and better exposure. Also, go to the top of the page, click on profile, and add the information for you car (year, model, etc) to your signature. That way you won't have to post it each time, and as the thread progresses, people won't have to look at your first post to remember what car you have. Your location can often be helpful, also.

Happy to help out. We'll all do the best we can to help you out with your problem. As you're an New Englander....you may want to check out the NEBF thread in the National/Regional meets toward the bottom of the main page. A big meet coming up in Connecticut in May.

Welcome to BC!

I'll go wander over to the '92-99 Maintenance section and see if you posted your problem there....<wanders off aimlessly...>
