Default Hello from Little Ol' Washington State

Always been a fan of Bonnevilles. My Dad had an 89 SSE that was loaded but most of the stuff didn't work. Today I went and bought a 88 SSE but unlike my Dad'* most of the features work. The Compass doesn't work it always says I'm going north but other than that everything seems to work. 147000 miles on it. Sometime in its life someone had a fabric top made for it over the metal roof, its unraveling so I'm going to just remove it since it doesn't look good anyways. leather on the seats is worn but I might be able to find some better ones at the junk yard. Has a small oil leak at the rear valve cover nothing a new gasket wont fix. Also has a leak by the water pump probably a seal or a loose radiator hose doesn't leak very fast though. One of the rear air hoses has a leak so the air suspension is disconnected another easy fix. Paid $500 for it. Had to jump start it since it wasn't started for a month. Runs good already put 50-60 miles on it today. My plans are to put the L67 supercharged V6 in there because I love power and supercharger whine. Probably going to first do intake and get some strut tower bars. Can't spend too much money on it yet since I have to pay for school. Going to Wyotech in October to become a Diesel Mechanic. I'll try to post some pictures later today.

Welcome to the Club!
You will also want to check your RPO codes against the list in Tech Info. They should be on the underside of the spare tire cover.

I'm in the Port Orchard area, my grandparents live in the Bonney Lake/Sumner/Lake Tapps area what ever they decide it should be its changed a few times. I don't know if I can make it down for WCBF07 due to work and the need for money for school. Wyotech is expensive so I have a loan for that but I need to cover housing and food so I am saving most of my money going to do very little to the Bonneville this summer even though I want to do alot more but It will have to wait.

I'm going to check my codes cause there is alot of options on here, found out there is a car alarm. For some reason the rear doors dont lock sometimes with the power lock button and I forgot the doors were locked and I opened the rear door and the horn started going off. Pretty weak horn but what ever. Going to have to figure out how to get the hood up by myself though. If I pull the latch it doesn't move or release unless someone pushes down on the hood.

Alright I'll let you know if I run into any trouble. Nothing to hard just simple stuff. I just got done doing hubs/wheel bearings on my K5 so these gaskets and such will be a walk in the park even with new bearings my K5 still pulls randomly to the left so it must be a u-joint but I think I will just upgrade from 1/2ton axles to the 3/4ton axles my buddy has since its a project truck anyways.

John also has a scantool that will work on your car if you should need that.

Post any issues you have in the mechancial/electrical sections and we'll get to work on them.

If you change your mind about WCBF, you can do it on the cheap if you need to, or come down with another member. Most people share campsites to keep costs down.

Someone else can give you a better idea of the cost range involved than me, cuz I kinda live here.
