Nothing special about the screen name, other than the fact I tried to use, tinindian on another forum, and it was already used, so I added the "1", too it, and have used it that way since.
I guess it is also in reference to the steel bodied Pontiac cars that were raced back in the 60s, and were named the "Tin Indians"
Knafel Pontiac, maybe? They raced GTOs back in the day.
And no, I'm not a Native American, if that'* what you are wondering.
Just a crazy white boy, in love with his Pontiacs!
Thanks,
Leon.

The 79 T/A is a 403/auto.
It came with the 2:73 posi,
I changed that to 3:73 posi, for a few years,
and now I have a 2:56 posi in it now, it cruises a little
easier now.
My plan is to put the 3:73s back in, along with a 200-4R ,
then I can have my cake, and eat it too
And the 83 T/A has 3:73, also.

My 79 Formula is also a 403 auto but I swapped in some 3.08 gears to replace the original 2.41 gears because I still want...need... some top end.
The 3:73 must be a real kick to drive in the 83 standard and would be fine in the 79 for running the 1/4 but the 200-4R would give you the OD you need for highway cruising. I have considered that swap myself many times over the years.

Thanks, MadSam, I'll take your word on the name of the color.
When we bought the car, it was all about the supercharger, for me!
I think I would have got it, no matter what color it was.
Besides, as you all can see, I have a few other rides, to have fun with.
Here'* a real recent shot of it, just after changing the rear struts.
Leon.
