You can maybe wreck the Rack & Pinion in it.....But what'* telling you that the PS isn't working???? It'* a very simplistic system?

We don't know much about Malibus here, but Mike Chezzi (sse1990) who is a member here owns this:

http://www.malibuclub.ca/

I think that may be the site that can help you.

will, the malibu is my mom in laws car. WE just bought a 95 bonnee' w/ 3800 engine (not turbocharged) and it runs great. 215,000 miles on it. newer trannie, 79,000 mi. on it.
then the other day my wife filled it up and when i got home i smelled gas. soooo i looked under the car and yep it was drippin gas. right behind the passengers seat (about) . so it'* in gettin fixed. also our odometer reads "error" and the trip feature does'nt seem to work. could somebody have fooled w/ the odom. what else would cause this.
any help cory

The reason why the Odometer is not working, is related to why the Trip isn't working. The "error" you see, means there is something not communicating. Either the VSS, or the ECM is not communicating to the DIC Module, to then display it. More than likely it is just a dead wire, going from the VSS to the ECM. You may want to check those out. Someone with your year will be better able to help with that.

And Bonnevilles aren't Turbocharged from the factory. They're Supercharged

Pray that it'* not a VSS problem. A wire would be easier.
