Default Love my GXP!

Hey everyone
I've been browsing the forum now for many years and am now on my third Bonneville. The support has been amazing. I started with a 1995 Black SSE. I installed a carputer and did many repairs before moving on to a gray 2003 SSEi. I drove the 2003 for about a year and then traded it for my black 2005 GXP. Soon I will be working on installing a new carputer in the 2005.

Welcome to BC!

Glad you decided to stop in and say "Hi" after all these years watching us. Did you finally decide that you might be safe here amongst all the crazies?

It sounds like you might have some knowledge that we could all benefit from.

EDIT: Mark, a carputer is something altogether different. Here check out this site as an example: http://www.letscommunicate.co.uk/carputer/software.htm

Or Google "carputer" for more info.

Welcome...

How do you like the GXP compared to the 03 SSEi?

I know this sounds ridiculous, but I really wanted a Black Bonneville again. I had more cash and wanted the newest one I could get. GXP seats are cool! 2003 had a bunch of weird things going on: only half rear defrost strips worked, blower fan quit working, trunk was full of water, supercharger made a scraping noise, tranny made loud thump shifting from anything to reverse. I guess I maybe let too many things get away on me and just decided to trade. Dealer didn't say anything about these problems when I traded so neither did I. Maybe the Joke is on me, 2005 GXP had a trunk full of water last weekend too(rained 12"). I think I got it fixed now, there was a 3 inch area around driver side rear brake light with none of that glue that covers the metal to metal join. I still drive the 95 sometimes, my little brother is racking up most of its miles.

I love the sound the GXP makes when it is fed, it likes pure unleaded, none of this 10% ethanol stuff. Otherwise it drives and burns fuel pretty much the same.
