Welcome to BC!

|_ Standard newbie greeting but you've obviously been lurking for quite a while now. Good to have you aboard. You can likely contribute some of your experience.
And regarding the 89 inch/lbs torque for the plastic intake, you are right. A normal torque wrench has a range that is much too high to accurately provide a good torque reading at those low values. One would have to buy a special 1/4" torque wrench with an inch/lb range to expect any degree of accuracy. Torque wrenches, like many other guages and measuring tools are not repeatably accurate at the extreme high and low ends of their workable ranges.
On the other hand, you've made the same adjustment that many of us do who've been wrenching a while. You have a decent "feel" for torque ranges and you know not to over-torque delicate parts.

Thanks all for your nice welcomes and comments!
I love Florida for bike week in March, but we stay inland near Mt Dora
I'll have to look up Grand Blanc and Caseville Beach.
To 95SLS: No vincents, but I did buy my mother a 1947 red Indian Chief a few years ago (Hey, she'* only 92). Actually she got pretty excited.
Our 94 SLE is black also with a gray leather interior. It'* pretty nice still and kept up. Just for grins I took it in for trade on a new pickup two years ago. $1200. Of course, we kept it.
Do you guys like your K&N filters? I was just about to buy new regular filters on sale the other day, and then I decided, no, why not try K&N. I think I can gut the Bonneville boxes, but I think Ford has already done that on my 2004 4.0 Ranger.

I love my K&N panel filter and gutted airbox. You might hear much more air intake sound. Some people like the additional sound, some don't. Many have reported slight improvements in MPG and peroformance.

Dang. I just realize you're a Yoopper!
My wife used to live in South Range...a mere 15 miles from you! She lived there as a young child when her dad (my father-in-law) went to Tech. Have you been in the UP your entire life?
There was an active member here from Marquette. I haven't seen him on in a while, however...
Grand Blanc is just south of Flint. Caseville is at the tip of the thumb.

Welcome! Don't be afraid to post questions you may have and keep in mind that if you have the question, others may have possibly had it in the past, so try to search if you can first.
Are you talking about yourself again???

Let me clear some things up: I'm not a Yooper, however I am an old fart (Hey, wait a minute here!)
Apparently, there is a Twin Lakes (plural) in the UP. I live in Twin Lake (singular). We don't know what happened to the other one. Twin Lake is north and a little east of Muskegon about 15 miles. We also lived in and still have a cabin in Irons, MI. We lived many years in Elkhart, IN, just about on the MI border.
Thanks dbtk2 for your defense--I like your sign.
