new member, and thanks
I just wanted to say hi. I just joined this forum, after stumbling upon it, doing a search to try to fix my wifes DD. It sprung a water leak over the spring time, which we were quoted 500ish to fix the lower intake manafold gasket. Well come to find out, it WASN'T the gasket after all, it was the elbow that goes into the idler pulley assembly. You guys just saved me a ton of money, never mind the countless hours to replace what was not the problem in the first place.
Thanks again guys!!!
Rick

Welcome Rick and glad the Forum helped out. There are alot of Bonneville enthusiasts in and around the Connecticut area, one of them a staff member here with an unbelievable grasp of what makes the 3800 tick. Hope your luck here continues.

Well I guess I spoke too soon. I fixed the plastic elbow. Now the Drivers side has a good size leak. I cant pinpoint but I think I may be pulling the lower intake after all. Is this a tough job? I am not afraid of doing it, but would like to know what I am in for.
I did a search, but did not find anything useful. I'm sure I did not look for the right terminology on this. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rick

You may have to look under LIM. I personally have not done a LIM gasket change. That'* one of the few things I've not done. But the way it looks it'* not to hard. Just make sure you get a good set of gaskets.
Not sure what your year and trim level is, but here are two different gaskets.

Thank you for the links. I was planning on getting the gaskets from Advance Auto, but is there something I should look at, as far as quality of the gaskets? I only want to do this once ( I actually didnt want to do this in the first place, but thats a different story).
I realize this thread is a bit off topic for the "new members" area, so if you feel you need to move it to a more appropriate area, please do so.
Thanks,
Rick
