Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to put in a first post on this site. First of all I must say I am thrilled to see a Bonneville forum, and can't believe I did not find this before now! Over the last handful of years, I've had a green 1995 Bonneville, that I drove to about 180K until the transmission gave out for a second time, a 1999 silver Bonneville, that lost it'* life at only 110K a little over a year ago (while saving mine - I'll try to post a pic if I can figure out). And when that one was laid to rest, I now have a 2005 SE (white, I'm eager to learn about the white curse and only have about 55K on this one. So hopefully it'* got 150K left in it.

I enjoy these cars because I've been able to get them rather inexpensively, they are comfortable, large and relatively fuel efficient. I thought I might be the only guy around that wears one Bonneville out, only to go get another - boy was I wrong.

Anyway I'm thrilled to death to be able to search on some little things I've now experienced on multiple Bonnevilles, and find what others do in these areas. It will be good to pick other folks brains on these things (like why every Bonneville leaks, Pwr windows are weird, random engine things I know nothing about, why I my 1995 could get 500 miles/tank, but newer ones get worse, etc, etc. I better get surfing.

Have a good weekend,

ben

Hello from Granville!!! Bonnevilles, like you've found out, are complete tanks. They'll take anything short of being rammed head-on by a cement truck at 120 mph... Now, about the white curse. Some people believe in it, some people don't, and some people believe in the dark blue Impala curse ( ), but I think it'* just because that white is a very popular color, especially with rental cars Your 2005 should last well past 200k, IMO. Well, anyways, there are 4 active members in the Cbus area, including me, and we're having a meet tomorrow if you want to spontaneously come down to Cincinnati for a track day... We'd love to have ya

I may have to join in one of the track days, at least as a viewer. I don't think mine in its current state deserves any track time!

Greetings from WV

I just had a recent accident with a very large deer, and all it did was break my headlight. So on top of the overwhelming comfort, it'* nice to know I can also feel very safe inside the old girl

Sorry about your previous loss, but I think you'll like the one you've got now

Hello there! I'm one of the four active members from the Columbus area...Galloway, actually.
Drop me a PM if you ever want to hang out, or go junkyarding, or out to the track.
