You could get a 2000 SSEi from an auction or something for that kinda dough. $15 000 CDN might do it. I'd set the budget a tad higher if you are set on the supercharged version. But they come loaded to the max.
Or you could get a REALLY nice 98 or 99 for that kinda money with no problems.
Good luck and a big ol welcome from a fellow Canadian

Welcome! Go for broke and get the SSEi! Like 89 said, you can really do good with both body styles and won't be disappointed. Welcome to the family! I would say 99, my opinion, because it has 5 cup holders, Hehehe!!!

You won't be disappointed with your decision to buy a 2000 SSEi.
but be prepared to spend about 20 - 25 K for a nice low mileage one. If you're lucky you can find a high mileage lease 2000 for 15-20 K but you take your chances with how it was treated.
It will blow your SS Camaro off the road....literally.

I popped over to my friendly Pontiac dealer a couple of months ago just to see what he would give me on a trade for my SSEi on a newer 2003.
$25,000. trade on a $44,000 new one. I ran away from that deal, laughing. I know they would have sold it for at least $28 K.
Mine is relatively low mileage and paid for now, so I think I'll wait for the 2006 GXP'* to hit the lots. By then I should have enough saved up and still probably get $25 K for my 2000.
