I do have an update on project status'. I have the IROC put in storage for the winter. I had to replace the fuel pump, spark plugs, wires, oil, oil filter, fuel filter. Tore the top end apart and cleaned all of the injectors. The car runs great now, but left no time for the body. Haven't had to do anything to the Riv. It'* been good. The 80 Z is the project for the winter. I am ordering coil springs and leaf springs with a front spherical bearing and poly shackles PTFB (Pro Touring FBody). Also put solid body mounts on the car and have frame connectors awaiting install. Then I'm upgrading the rear drum brakes to 98-02 LS1 disc. I have most of that stuff now and will be starting that soon. So by spring that car should make a good track day car.

tpi engines were pretty good for stock with 200hp and 300lbft. but mine had the 2.8, thus the crate engine i put in it after blowing up 2. your 80 sounds like its going to be fun

Eventually I'll be doing a 350 swap on the TPI or doing the LS engine swap. Someday. No big hurry. It took me many years to finally decide what I wanted to do with that 80. Half the time I just wanted to leave it stock, but finally got the itch and decided I'm going all out on this thing. I've had the car since 2001 and it spends most of it'* time sitting in the garage anyway. I'll just need to find some nice curvy roads in the spring.

if i was going to do a swap again i would go ls. it wasent so cheap when i did it, basically spent 2500-3000 on a engine that has 400hp and gets 10mpg on a good day. as cheap as the ls or truck 4.8'* or 5.3'* are you could get there with maybe a grand in parts and 5-600 for the tuning software and still get 20+ mpg

Oh nice. Well that could be an option. I'm not really set on anything with that car. I've been keeping my options open and seeing what other people have done with them.

Here are some new pictures and updates of my 80 Camaro. I converted to 98-02 Fbody LS1 rear calipers from the old drums and put a PTFB Comp suspension on it and dumped the traction bars.

Very Nice I like the early 80'* Camaro Chris.
I am not sure if I owned one if I could keep to the speed limit ..or even rear tires form burning...
