Hello,

My name is Dave and I have had a 2000 SSEI for years now. Just found this site and see that there are many who have similar questions and answers to go with. Look forward to participating by sharing my findings and problems as time goes by.

Thanks

Thanks but just keeping it on the road is radical enuf a thought. My son has inherited the car from me and I got me a G8 GT to replace it.

Latest problems: leak in the rear floor area and a leak in the trunk. The car was never parked outside since we owned it and now that it is outside, all the problems are popping up. Another that I am dealing with today is the passenger window. No up...no down!

If I have any other needs here today, I'll be back! So far I have found answers to the questions that puzzled me. This is a good forum. I will try to participate more often.

Thanks

The water can be coming from two places, first is the sun roof drain, the other would be a rusted threw hole in the floor or rear wheel well.

As for the window, does it move with the other window control, or is it dead totally?

Welcome Dave. We're glad you found us. The problems you list are fairly common, and I am sure we can help you out with those.

Don't let your son in here though. We tend to corrupt the young. We will fill his head with ideas of modding the SSEi to blow the doors off your G8.

Please add your year and trim of your vehicle to your signature line. That way when you start asking questions in other areas of the forum, we all have a better idea on how to assist you. Click on "Quick Links" above, go down to "User Control Panel" and then click on "Edit your Signature" It'* pretty straight forward from there.

Okay. Here is the finds of the day. I looked at the threads related to window not working and the water in the trunk/floor. Here is what I did.

I removed the window regulator. The motor is fine but the cable is screwed. I need the regulator.

I also took my handy dandy brazing rod water drain cleaner tool to the sunroof. Yep, the front drains were clogged and with some gentle roto-rooting and blowing out with high pressure, the two front ones started to drain properly. Now I need to determine if there are any in the backside. Will do that tomorrow if I don't get sidetracked.

I also had the leak in the trunk when it rained last. I remember when I looked at the SSEI way back when there were two on the lot. A bronze one and my black one. That bronze one had a veritable lake in the trunk. Source ... SPOILER! I learned that back then. Just forgot. So today I tightened the hold down bolts. We'll see if that does it. If not, I will be removing the spoiler and throw it in the dumpster.

Okay guys thanks for the great site.

Dave

P.*. Just kidding about the spoiler going in the trash.

Welcome to the Bonneville Forum, Dave. I see you've found your way around and met some of the crew. Watch them, they keep talking about sheep in the Staff Section....

Good job Dave. Pick em off one at a time. Let us know if searching doesn't come up with what you need. Feel free to visit with us in the Lounge if you feel like chatting with us. Ignore Venom'* comments about sheep. Those are strictly rumors.

Welcome to the forum. Chime in wherever you want. Don't listen to 2kg4u, your son'* mind is in very good hands. Is his mind pretty, um what'* the word, moldable?

And the sheep thing, Venom brought it up.

Any pictures are more than welcome, SSEi, G8 whatever you got. The SSEi could be eligible for COTM
