hello,cleveland area, just bought a 1995 se with 132k on the chassis,fresh E-Check, and a newer boneyard motor installed. Fresh white paint to update the defective GM "palomino" effect. My mechanic had purchased it with knocking engine from a longtime customer, and he'* been working on it personally since it was2 years old.

Sounds like the upper intake puked, and the new 'used' motor fixed it. Check the manufactured date on that black upper intake......the guys in the 92-99 forum can help you determine if it'* the new design, and what to look for if it isn't.
