Default New From LongIsland, NY (Long)

Hello. I have a '90 Jet Black Bonne SSE for about a year now. I tihnk It'* a fantastic crusier, yet it has really good handling. Love the steering on it too, nice and heavy. I've been doing repairs to it mostly. It has 135,000 mmiles on it and there were things that had to be adressed. I am the 3rd owner of the car, the 2nd owner kinda trashed it. Picked up the car for $400. What we got was working A/C, good wheel bearings, Good engine and Transmission, Power steering, alternator, ignition module and coils, all motor mounts, axels, abs, compass and driver computer, tan cloth in great shape, power locks, factory security system, tinted windows, gold wheels in pretty good shape sans the caps, tinted rearview mirrors. Now for all the parts that were bad... The hood is dented, grille was craked , front fenders were dented, paint is shot, sun roof, sun shade, signal staulk, tailights, headliner, thinking air pump is bad too, head light washer bottle, radiator, shifter handle was messed up causing conflict with the ignition key, some interior bits missing, trans lines were rusting, and the hood struts.. yeah a bunch of work but I've been in love with this car since I was 15. Things we replaced, inteior bits, hood struts, radiator, grille, shifter, ign lock cylinder, trans lines with rubber hose, battery, transmission modulator, front brake hoses, cam magnet, cam sensor, new timing set and tensioner, front cover(because I broke it replacing it back on the engine), front cover gasket set and crank seal, new heater pipe that goes into the front cover, crank sensor(a number of times, long story), battery terminals, signal staulk, flasher relays, all exterior lighting, silver star head lights, yellow factory style fog lights, SE tail lights, 140 amp CS-144 alternator( orginally replaced with a CS-130 that had the iceberg converison), Gabriel G-Force struts all around including rear superlift, trans fluid and filter(car had old style filter in there..yuck), new lower intake gaskets, egr gaskets, air filter, wiper blades, front brake hoses, front brake rotors, Pepboys Prostop ceramic brake pads, rear brake drums, AutoZone Durastop brake shoes, Wagner rear brake hardware, and a front strut tower brace..

Yeah.. thats the list. The car was ovbioulsy neglected and taken advantage of, but it does run and comfortably takes us anywhere. I love the style, the way it rolls down the highway, the kick back to center of the steering, the space..ohhhh the space to spread out and cruise. The engine sounds good too. Classic GM 6 cylinder sound. Yeah it could use more power.... but what do you expect for a car made int he 80'*? All cars were slow back then, at least things thing, like most GM has some response! Other than the repairs, thing I would like to see done to it in the future would be, a louder muffler with dual pipes, bigger tires, say 225 50 or 55 16 or 235 55 16, maybe put on a Grand Prix wheel and get some 245 45 16s on it. Yeah I have a thing for wide tires. Day/Night automatic reaview mirror, aux transcooler. And if I still have the car long enough, i'd like to get some more power into the car, either though, an engine rebuild or refit. One thing is certian, I love this car anything on the lists are not in any particular order

Cars I've owned in order
'89 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme International 2.8 Auto Bright Red/ Silver-1 year Crashed
'89 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 2.8 Auto All Maroon with Gold accents-6 years Crashed
Personally rebuilt engine to a 3.2, then refit with a personaly built up 3400

'94 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 5.7 LT1 Auto Red with Black Roof Hardtop-4 years Sold
'93 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.4 TDC Auto White with Aero Pkge-3 year Crashed
Replaced engine with my built up 3400. Personally rebuilt 4T60-E

'90 Pontiac Grand Prix Turbo 3.1Turbo Auto Bright Red- 1 year Sold

Cars I have now
'90 Pontiac Bonneville SSE 3.8 3800 Auto Black with gold trim - 11 months

We tend to look past the blemishes to see the character of the car.

(take my black hood for instance.......)
