Thumbs up 1999 Pontiac

Hello I have a 1999 pontiac Bonneville and my interior lights would stay on even while driving I checked the fuse 6a and it was fine after 10 minutes the computer would turn off the lights I went to the fuse panned under passenger side and switched the relays but no such luck so my next step was to take doors apart so this is what I found the door handle has a black and grey wire running to it unplug it and lights go out from bright to dim to off in 15 seconds I am telling everyone this because I could not figure out why the lights were not going out I went to AutoZone and Napa and they said it'* my BCM computer I don't want anyone to get taken advantage of when it could be ad simple as unplugging a door handle I believe it'* for the light when you try and open the door when it'* locked but don't worry the lights will come on when you open the door thanks for listening I hope this helps everyone out there who is having the same problem with their lights
