iac and egr both get carboned up on the cone and the seat they sit into, so if you cleaned the seat on the tb that the iac sits in it would be good. egr has to be cleaned same way thats how you know if its going to work or not

just took the car for a 10 mile drive and it started doing the same thing. But this time I noticed water leaking from the Heater Water Inlet Pipe. So I am thinking I need to replace the gaskets as stated by Mike. Thankfully the car has had no issues with over heating. Justin, I will check for the carbon build up. But it looked pretty clean.
Thanks guys. Im pretty certain this wont be done till Friday. Will let you know how it turns out.

you talking about the plastic elbow that goes from the tensioner to the lower intake? you want to do aluminum. you can do it by moving the tensioner but that isnt going to cause your idle issue. intake gaskets or manifold would though. if you do those the kit from rock auto is what you want and you can do the elbow without moving the tensioner

Thank you Justin. Yes i am speaking of the plastic elbow. I am actually planning on ordering the parts from the Rock today.
I hope the new gaskets will fix the idle/shifting issue.!! Will let you know

if they dont you arent out anything really as all 3800'* eventually have a problem with these three things. LIM gaskets, elbows, and upper intake failure

We Finally got the UIM & LIM gaskets along with replacement heater inlet elbows put in the car. Went ahead and put a new waterpump in since the car was already tore down. Replaced the UIM unit as well. The idle is better but still higher than it should be while in park. Once it is dropped into gear it kicks down to about 1000 rpms. In Park it is at about 1500 to 1800 rpms.
Its hotter than forty hells here in East TN right now so Im certain that cool air is not the issue.
Any ideas?
thanks

Could the EGR valve be bad?

Sounds like a vacuum leak if its idling that high.
