To my knowledge there are no after market series 1 heads. As for doing a top swap, I believe it'* possible with a series 1, but will have to wait for others with a bit more experience in that engine.

The L27 should NOT be top swapped. Your bottom end will not last very long at all because the pistons can't handle it. It is much easier, cheaper, and more reliable to swap a Series 1 L67 into a car than to supercharge an L27. It has been tried, and the damage wasn't pretty.

With a whole engine swap you would be better off.

Hey TML! I agree that you should go with a freshened up L67. In fact, you should do a Series II swap so that instead of working with a 170 HP L27, a 215/225 HP Series 1 L67, you could get 240 HP from a Series II L67. If you do want to top-swap the L27, make sure that you do no more performance mods since your block may then be on the edge of exploding. Also, on the PCM, you'll need to have someone flash it rather than trying to fit a PCM from another car.

Good luck, and welcome!

The other thing is that top swapping a Series 2 is a lot easier than top swapping a Series 1. There are SO many parts that need to be replaced that its flat out not worth it from either a time or money standpoint.

Welcome to GMF!

i just wanted to say also keep in mind if you do a top swap you're very limited future mods and cant drop anymore pully sizes as far as i know, were if you drop an L67 in you can mod further and also you can find aftermarket parts alot easier
