HI ALL!!
Hi All-
Just dropped in to say hello as a brand new member. My bonnie is a Green '93 SSE with the gold wheels. IT IS A GREAT RIDE. I bought it about 2 years ago off ebay. Its got all the toys (although some don't quite work right, which is one of the reasons I'm here).
I ended up with a Bonneville in my search because I wanted a vehicle with the 3.8L engine. I'd taken my father-in-laws Park Ave on a trip and got 30 mpg driving on the thruway at 75 mph. THAT BLEW MY MIND. So the search began. I'll confess that I was looking for a car that "fell out of favor" (like contrarian investing) with the general public. Everyone liked the Gran Prixs with the 3.8L so they were kind of pricey. Then I stumbled across a '97 Bonnie SSEi in Texas that I just fell in love with (A SUPER CHARGER!!!) but, ended up out of my price range. I kept looking, and found the one I bought in Virginia. Full loaded - moon roof, leather 18 way seats ( if I can keep my kids from messing with my seat when they get in up front I'll have it made!!!LOL), climate control and HUD (is HUD COOL OR WHAT!!). The only thing it didn't have that I wanted was a CD player, so I put a FM modulated unit in.
My last trip I got 30 mpg with the a/c on criusing 70+ mph on the highway. My wife is constantly trying to take it from me!!!!
Well, that'* my story. You'll see me posting looking for tips on fixing some things and performance tips (has anyone hacked into the PCM???).

You and I have alot in common.....beginning with the green and gold
I also have the FM modulated CD player. Works great. And my kids play with the seats, too
There'* some first mods tips in Techinfo, as well as a WEALTH of other information. We also have a forum specifically for performance.
As far as the PCM is concerned, Jet still makes a chip for the 93 SSE and SSEi. I have the Stage 2 SSEi chip, and love it.

JET Performance Chips offer the most horsepower available for your GM car or truck. Only JET performance chips provide exclusive full range DST programming of the air/fuel ratio, ignition advance, transmission and various other parameters. Each program is track and dyno tested to ensure the most possible horsepower from each application without effecting drivability or fuel economy.
