Hello Fellow Pontiac Fans....
I came across this forum while searching for some info on Bonneville'* and couldn't help but sign up. I am a life long Pontiac fan and it breaks my heart that the line has been retired. When I was a kid, my mom used to haul my brother, myself, and 23 of our friends around in her 1971 Catalina (400cci). I took my drivers test in that same car many years later. It was then that I realized just how incredible the powers of a Pontiac where....during the three-point-turn portion of the test, the instructor told me “you may have to take a few extra stabs to get this boat turned around”. How awesome is that? Anyone taking this test is required to turn around in three or you FAIL. However, if you happen to drive a Pontiac, then you just take all the time and space that you need. It was close, but I managed to get it done in three
I guess the power, sweet ride, and sporty looks of them contribute to my fondness as well.
Anyway, since then I have driven a 1972 LeMans coupe (350cci), 1980 TA (fitted with a RAM Air IV 400cci), 1994 Bonneville SE, 1995 Bonneville SE, 2001 Bonneville SE, and finally I am awaiting paperwork for a 2003 Bonneville SSEI that I rebuilt over the winter. I also have been meaning to work on a rock solid 1975 TA that has been sitting in my shop for about 15 years. I made it as far as dropping a 455 Olds Rocket into it, but have yet to finish the job. Always seems to be something else for me to spend my free time and money on!
So there you have it. Now it is time to hit the tech pages and try and sort out my issue. Take care to all and enjoy your rides……
