open egr is kinda like a vacuum leak, and the cruise controls normally operate on vacuum, possibly all related. pretty unique though it would be the first time i ever heard of that.

Well EGR valve is in. Drove it around for a bit and check engine light did not come on. Waiting to feel victorious since it sometimes doesn't come on. Other bad news is it'* still hesitating while accelerating. Ordered a new one, you know , since it'* so fun to spend a ton of money. I also called the dealership and questioned the cruise vent solenoid and was told it'* a GM canister in the front drivers side under the hood. Of course GM can't order it because it was discontinued..

gm dealer is the last place you should be getting parts. unless you like wasting money. if you want delco or delphi (normally oem) rock auto has them for less than half.

did they check fuel pressure? you put a new gasket in? check the little metal flex tube for cracks or not sealing properly?

Oh no, I wouldn't order it through them. I just called to see if they knew what the part was. The guy told me "good luck finding it" but gave me a part number. I have a cheap and trusted parts guy so I always go through him.

Today we changed the camshaft sensor, took it for a drive and it did not fix the "chugging/hesitating/ i don't know what you would call it" problem completely. It is ten times better, but still does it around corners and up hills.

We then changed the fuel filter, drove it, and still same issue.

Since there is only one code left to address, this "GM canister, or carbon canister" we decided we would inspect the lines and see if there is carbon built up in there. To do that, we had to take the air filter box out. While my boyfriend inspected the lines, I decided I would pull the air filter off and see what it looked like. It had a black circle about the size of a baseball on it and there was some leaves and small sticks in there.

My question about this is, since the car has not been sitting at all since I bought it, and I replaced the filter when I bought it, how did the stuff get in there? and why would it be black only in a circle?? Would this cause the chugging hesitation under load?

I did not hear anything back about fuel pressure but I'm assuming it came back ok cuz I did ask them to check it. I also replaced the gasket with the EGR. I don't remember a little flex tube, but I will check it this afternoon when I replace the air filter.

No flex tubes that I could find..
Air filter helped a little around corners but it'* really bad up hills. Someone suggested I had a collapsed or bad catalytic converter? Any ideas on that?

EGR Valve Pipe Bonneville Grand Prix Park Avenue Regal Lumina Monte Car 24508516 | eBay

pretty sure your car should have it, it goes from the base of the egr toward the front of the car under the throttle body. it connects to the lower intake. its a common problem on this engine to get cracked

also i wouldnt trust that. anyone checked your pressure either. the parts stores usually have a gauge you can borrow. i a almost new car that i took in for a oil change and i told them the tire was low(watched her write it on the service ticket) they couldnt even bother with that and it was almost completely flat

cat is pretty difficult to diagnose, but as long as the o2'* are working properly you would get a cat deficiency code

I didn't think so either. I don't smell rotten eggs so it shouldn't be bad. I'll look into that fuel pressure too, just wish it would stop snowing! Have a few little tricks to try tomorrow too.

so is it cruise module or evap canister? if evap there are a bunch of vacuum lines that can become cracked and cause it to run rough
